Preflight & Image Assembly
PREFLIGHT
The following is an outline of the various preflight steps Richards performs when we receive your files to ensure everything is OK before production starts.
  1. Files are first checked to ensure they are virus free
  2. Text and images are checked for proper placement according to the specifications
  3. Type fonts used in the file are checked next
  4. Photos are checked for proper resolution and placement
  5. PMS and process colors used in the file are compared with the specifications
  6. Transparency and gradients are checked and flattened
    for imaging
  7. PDF proofs are e-mailed to you; OR
  8. Digital color proofs are sent to you for final approval
IMAGE ASSEMBLY
Often, our clients have us do the final editing. These steps may include:
  1. Retouching of photographs for color balance and tone reproduction
  2. Special effects
  3. Image manipulation and assembly
  4. Electronic RIP and trapping
  5. Electronic page imposition
  6. Digital color proofing
